There were no wholesome Doris Day types at FHM magazines recent Girl Next Door finals.
They decided to get sexy instead in outfits that would make Mary Poppins blush.They matched the outfits with the moves too - with some pelvis thrusting here and there, making the event look more like a Girl Next Door to Hugh Hefner competition!
But hey, whos complaining? It was all good fun. The largely male crowd enjoyed watching 12 beauties on stage strut their stuff.
The winner of the Girl Next Door title was Esther Tan.
Esther won the title, beating 11 other contestants at the event at The Ministry Of Sound Euphoria in Sunway.
Esther, a business development manager said she was overexcited at her victory.
The 24-year-old said she might even consider going into modeling full-time as she enjoys it so much.
Every contestant had a good chance of winning. But I guess I won because of my confidence, she said.
Esther will be featured on FHMs March cover and will receive RM10,000 worth of cash and prizes.
Anyone that is featured in FHM is a role model for any woman, she gushed.
FHM reader votes made for 40% of the points, while a panel of judges determined the balance.
The judges on the night were FHM editor Simon Burgess, Carlsberg senior manager David Gan, Red FM personality Rudy and models Chantelle Chuah and Amber Chuah.
There were also performances by Mizz Nina, Caprice and Marsha Milan.Published Jan 15 2011
